The Raw Truth About 100% Polyester Swimwear

Ever wonder why we use 100% polyester for our swimsuits? Here’s the deal: polyester is built for the water. It fights chlorine and sun hard, so your suit lasts way longer than a Lycra. In fact, experts note a 100% polyester suit can last 3–4× longer than Lycra. That means colours stay vivid and the fit stays snug length after length. We’re swimmers ourselves, so trust us—polyester is functional. We’d rather give you a suit that survives the grind than one that sags after a season.

Why 100% Polyester?

For serious training, chlorine is the enemy of your gear. Pools dump bleach on everything, and normal fabrics melt away. That’s why we go full polyester: our suits are literally “high chlorine-resistant”. Each stitch and seam is built for durability, hydrodynamics and long-term shape retention. In practice that means fewer wear-and-tear worries. You can chase PBs or push for extra yards without your suit turning into a saggy mess. In short: polyester isn’t afraid of your swim; it’s ready for it.

Chlorine & UV Resistance: Polyester is famed for withstanding pool chemicals and sun. Our suits shrug off chlorine and hold their colour.

Durability & Shape: This fabric doesn’t pill or bag out. It holds its form length after length. You won’t have to treat it like a baby – it’s built to last.

Quick-Dry Comfort: Our swimwear wicks out water fast. That means when you climb out of the pool, you won’t be dragging a heavy, dripping suit. Give it a rinse, hang it in the sun, and it’s practically dry by the time you grab a post-swim coffee.

Heads Up: What to Consider

Look, we’re not here to blow smoke. Pure polyester feels different on your skin. There’s zero Lycra, so the fit is firm. It’s tighter and less stretchy than a spandex blend. If you’re used to buttery-soft stretch suits, 100% poly will take some getting used to. It won’t scoot or wiggle (good for performance, but expect a snug fit). Because of that snugness, we often recommend sizing up if you’re in between sizes.

Reduced Stretch & Feel: Polyester won’t hug your curves the way Lycra does. It can feel a bit stiff or clingy at first. It gives less, so picking the right size is key.

Snug Fit & Sizing: No Lycra means the suit isn’t forgiving. A precise fit is deliberate – you either fit it or you don’t. (Our customers often end up sizing up for comfort.)

Less Breathable (and Eco-Friendly): Polyester is hydrophobic – great for quick-dry, but it can trap a bit more heat against your skin. Also, full disclosure: it’s a plastic fiber, so it’s not the greenest choice out there. Consider it a trade-off: you get a super-tough suit that lasts years, but it’s made from synthetic material.
